Burgos airport, at Villafría on the east side of the city, has very little commercial traffic. Before booking it is worth confirming the flight leaves from there: from Burgos, flying usually means Barajas or Bilbao.

On arrival: Alfoz de Burgos

The city of Burgos holds the university hospital, Rosa de Lima station, the cathedral and the Museum of Human Evolution, and is where the whole province comes for appointments and paperwork. It also has large industrial estates, with shift changes at hours when there are no buses.

Tip: If you are leaving from Miranda de Ebro or Las Merindades, compare flights from Bilbao before booking to Barajas: the airport run can be much shorter.
